Biotechnology:

Electroextraction Electroextraction: "Protein electroextraction coupled to direct sorption – a new route for primary recovery of intracellular bio products from industrial yeast"
The aim of the project is to develop a new - highly efficient - method for intracellular protein recovery from yeast – by electroextraction.
Modern biotechnology heavily depends on the availability of efficient processes, which should be able to generate competitive products or services in terms of quality and cost. Electroextraction will provide a route for more facile, efficient, and economical processing of intracellular bio products from yeast fermentations that are valuable for the chemical, food and pharmaceutical industries.

Fish & Chips Fish & Chips: "Towards DNA chip technology as a standard analytical tool for the identification of marine organisms in biodiversity and ecosystem science"
Sustainable development is a fundamental goal of the European Union and loss of biodiversity is emphasised as one of the main threats to it. The aim of the project is the development of DNA chips for the identification of marine organisms in European Seas as a cost effective, reliable and efficient technology in biodiversity and ecosystem science.
Logo Nanotechnology GENSENSOR-NANOPARTS: "Nano-biotechnical components of an advanced bioanalytical microarray system"
This EU funded project was developing a new approach for improving essential steps in the microarray based gene analytical method. Its final goal was to create an integrated system designed to allow rapid, label-free and low cost analyses of DNA or RNA in highly complex samples.

ICT:

ASP-BP ASP-BP: "Application Service Provision – Best Practice"
The ASP-BP cluster project constitutes a framework in which 6 experiments regarding ASP technology-based applications applied in different industrial field were realised. Under this framework, management, dissemination and exploitation of synergies were performed centralised to increase effectiveness. Subcontracted by the Europe wide Consortium InfoConsult contributed to organisation and implementation of the related information technology for safety and security concept.
TourServ TourServ:"Personalised Tourist Services Using Geographic Information System via Internet"
The aim of the project was to enhance competitiveness of players in alpine tourism by integrated multimedia-information via Internet on e.g. accommodation, travelling or weather. A three-dimensional map of mountaineering / skiing / hiking regions was made available via the Internet. When accessing by mobile platforms, e.g. personnel digital assistants (PDA), the tourist could access maps selected according to his position gained by GPS, containing information about the holiday area, e.g. the co-ordinates of lifts and according information.
wearIT@work wearIT@work: "Empowering the mobile worker by wearable computing"
Wearable mobile computing provides effective forms of access to knowledge and computing power anywhere and in any situation. A new software and hardware platform was created in which professionals can be mobile and at the same time fully integrated into the surrounding IT infrastructure. The new technology will have a long-term impact on the organization of individual and collaborative work and create new ways to organize work.

Regional Development:

Bonita BONITA: "Baltic Organisation and Network of Innovation Transfer Associations"
To develop the Baltic Sea Region into a high-tech region the existing scientific knowledge needs to be transferred into practice. Universities are important users and inventors of new technologies, services and products but often their innovations are not developed for commercialisation. Also the vast innovation potential of small and medium enterprises is not fully exploited. The goal of the BONITA project is to optimise the technology transfer processes in cooperation of universities, technology transfer institutions, industrial actors and policy makers.

eMarCon eMarCon: "Electronic Maritime Cultural Content"
The project eMarCon implemented and integrated a platform allowing geographically distant European museums and their visitors to arrange and subsequently experience common exhibitions via the internet. Additionally an eCommerce platform was implemented in order to make the selling of virtual and physical replicates via the internet possible for the cooperating museums.

MarMuCommerce MarMuCommerce: "Making Maritime Museums improve their market opportunities"
In many countries the public and non-profit character of public heritage institutions does not allow them to become involved in commercial operations to increase their budget by self generated income. Additionally they often lack the entrepreneurial competence. MarMuCommerce aimed to overcome these challenges by creating business models that allow introduction of commercial marketing techniques and tools and investigated the legal preconditions necessary in Europe.
